Delaire's cephalometric analysis
an approach
" It was necessary to find geometric fracings (Figures) better objectivizing the morpho-functional balance of the main constituents of the cephalic skeleton." Delaire
It has been seen that the face must be considered as a gathering, a puzzle, of anatomical and functionnal sub units. Each one of these sub units has a "personnal" behavior. Each one is influenced by the surrounding ones, and each one does influence in return the surrounding ones.
These functionnal sub units are connected to each other through points of particular interrest. These contact/articulation points are linked by lines individualizing territories of particular interrest. These lines are the axes of rotation and/or translation of these sub units.

The lines of the Craniofacial Architectural Analysis represent the "diagram of forces" sustained by the craniofacial skeleton, corresponding to the optimal harmony of its external forms and internal structures.
Delaire's cephalometric analysis allows to reveal, on the actual lateral cephalometry of the patient, the ideal theorical facial architecture he should have had in the absence of pathological ( genetic, syndromic, functionnal),deleterious process during growth. The actual architecture can then be visually compared with the ideal theorical one.
